Beyoncé Unveils a lineup of African Artist for the Lion King OST + Spirit Visuals [Video]

The remake of the famed Lion King premiered on the 18th of July, 2019 and had a great lineup of cast from; Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald GloverBeyoncé Knowles-CarterSeth Rogen, Alfre WoodardJames Earl Jones and a host of others. The Lion King was directed and produced by Jon Favreau and it is a Walt Disney Pictures Production. However, the official soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift, which was executive produced by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter gladden the hearts of everyone, well at least people from the African continent and why is this?  Because Beyoncé had decided to feature an array of  what she considered as the best artist out of Africa on the OST album. The features went on to include; Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Shatta Wale, Mr. Eazi, just to mention a few. She also had features from her fellow African American act such as; Jay-z, Pharrell, Childish Gambino, and daughter Blue Ivy Carter. This is indeed a break from the norm and a welcome development for music business growth in this part of the continent and hopefully a better understanding/bridge to the mainstream for afrobeats in a very closed market like America. Well done and Congratulations to Beyoncé Knowles-Carter for always pushing the bar and of course to everyone who was found worthy to be part of this project. This the music video for Spirit the leading single off the soundtrack album and it has a cameo of her beautiful daughter Blue Ivy. Check on it!
