Was Goliath Blind?

''I need a miracle Urgently.
I believe God for a miraculous intervention because this is out of my control.
I am waiting patiently for God to ‘Part the Red Sea’, ‘Send Manna from heaven’, ‘Give me provision’, ‘Turn water in to wine’, ‘Bring a David to kill Goliath’.
But I have a question.
A question that you have probably asked too (maybe only in your mind)
Should we be able to explain miracles?
If I can explain a miracle, does it not reduce the ‘awesomeness’ of God who performed the miracle?
Let’s take the case of David and Goliath. (1 Samuel 17)
David the underdog killed Goliath the Giant, after Goliath consistently assaulted the Isreali Army and taunted them [for 40 days]
We love underdog stories because they give us hope and belief that no matter how disadvantaged, we still have a chance. But much more in this story, we saw how God used a small shepherd boy to slay a might giant soldier using only a sling and a stone.
UNLESS if David wasn’t just a boy, using some little small catapult.
Some people have come up with the story of how: (by the way Malcom Gladwell is an amazing storyteller)
1.)    The sling isn’t some small weapon used to kill bush rats (like I used to when I was small). It is a potent weapon of war with skilled users so good they are known for hitting targets as small as the space in Goliath’s forehead.
2.)    David has killed a lion and a bear before
3.)    The power in a sling can be more deadly than early firearms. In experienced hands, the sling was arguably the most effective personal projectile weapon until the 15th century, surpassing the accuracy and deadliness of the bow and even of early firearms. – Chris Harrison.
So David isn’t 'just' a small shepherd boy.
There were also stories about Goliath
1.)    Why did he need someone to walk him to the valley of Elah
2.)    David was carrying a stick, Goliath said sticks
3.)    Goliath being a giant could mean he suffers from
Acromegaly, a condition with side effects such as cumbersome, double vision and abnormal growth. In essence, Goliath could have been seeing double.
Was David really then an underdog? (My answer is No, David CANNOT be the underdog, he was fighting for GOD, and if God be for us, who can be against us?)
I also know
A woman getting pregnant is a miracle
Night and day, and unfailing seasons are miracles,
How a child grows in the womb is a miracle
Our Galaxy is a miracle
You are a miracle.
And whether or not God gives revelation to the mystery behind a particular event or miracle or people come up with their own theories, it doesn’t change the fact that at the time when we need Him, God shows up in a way that defies logic, is well orchestrated and the chain of events all ensures we get our miracle.
Whether the stones David picked had a particular shape
Whether the wind blew in a particular direction
Whether the blacksmith left a hole too large in Goliath’s forehead
We know that
All things work together for good for those who love God and to them who are the called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28
That is the miracle.
And I need another one today!
How about you?
Question: Are miracles better left as mysteries?''

Angelique Kidjo - Eva ft. Asa

''Two African music power house unite to deliver this ode to the African woman. Here we hear the "Wombolombo" madam, Angélique Kidjo with her sonorous voice blend perfectly with Asa's to deliver some great music

The Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo returns to diva-dom with her album titled EVE as an ode to women across the continent. The collaboration rich Eve is set to be released  early next year through 429 records features the joint efforts of Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij, Kronos Quartet, NOLA legend Dr. John, as well as Kenyan and Beninese women’s choirs. The first single “Eva” (not to be confused with the album name) showcases a double dose of vocals from Nigerian/French soulstress Asa.
On Eve, her highly anticipated Savoy Records debut named for her own mother as well as the mythical mother of all living, the Beninese born, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter builds on this ever-evolving legacy with a 13-track, three interlude set of melodically rich, rhythmically powerful expressions of female empowerment. These songs become all the more intimate and emotionally urgent with Kidjos dynamic collaborations with traditional women s choirs from Kenya and various cities and villages in Benin. The singer and her newfound native lady friends sing in a wide array of native Beninese languages, including Fon (Kidjo s first language), Yoruba, Goun, and Mina.

Eve is an album of remembrance of African women I grew up with and a testament to the pride and strength that hide behind the smile that masks everyday troubles, says Kidjo, whose accolades include a 20 year discography, thousands of concerts around the world and being named Africa s premier diva (Time Magazine) and the undisputed Queen of African Music (Daily Telegraph). They exuded a positivity and grace in a time of hardship. On this recording I am letting the voices of the women show their beauty to the world, she adds. Eve is all about showcasing the positivity they bring to their villages, cities, culture and the world.''

The CBN (ChocBoiNation) artiste crafted this afropop song to celebrate all she is, and what every woman has the right to be: bold, fearless and powerful.

Janelle Monáe - PrimeTime ft. Miguel [Official Video]

Here are two of my some of my favourite acts out at the moment. And we are definitely blessed to have them on the same track. Check out visuals to Janelle Monáe - PrimeTime ft. Miguel.

''PrimeTime is a love story based on the early adventures of Cindi Mayweather (Janelle Monáe) and her first love Joey Vice (Miguel.) The Emotion Picture gives a glimpse at Cindi's humble beginnings as a "cyber-server" at the Electric Sheep nightclub, a syn bar serving high-class "show droids" to the rich and lonely in a dangerous section of Metropolis known as Slop City. Incidentally, the innovative cybersoul music played at the club directly impacted Cindi, and she began singing and performing her own innovative compositions a short time after quitting this assignment. In addition, Cindi became determined to change the public perception of what an electric lady could be, dream and aspire to after working in the dismal conditions at the club.''

Ibrahim Samande - Amina

Fresh sound from  this man right here.......  Check on it and thank you later.

Ibrahim Samande Music Bio

''Ibrahim Samande is no stranger to the music scene. Born to an Architect mother and Pastor father, he started playing the piano and writing songs from the age of 10. By 12 he was playing the drums in his dad’s church, singing, playing the guitar at concerts and directing his High school choir. By 17, he recorded his first demo with Panam Percy Paul in Jos, Plateau state.

Ibrahim continued to nurture his passion for music in the US and was awarded a four-month residency at an elite artist colony on Martha’s Vineyard Island, at The Contemporary Music Center in the first quarter of 2002. There he wrote and produced an EP for which he coined the phrase Alternative Soul; a mid-tempo blend of soul, pop and alternative rock. With such catchy songs as Winter in July and Tic Tok, Ibrahim had begun to carve a niche for him self as a singer/ songwriter in the diaspora.

By the summer of that same year, Ibrahim was being booked to perform at such events as the Annual Nigerian Reunion Celebration held in Miami Florida, USA, as well as opening for Grammy award winning artist Paul, from the 70s’ band “Peter, Paul and Mary” (Puff the Magic Dragon). His Alternative Soul Ep received much critical acclaim both abroad as well as amongst the over 2million Nigerian residents in the US, earning himself the title “Mr. Winter in July”.

Ibrahim Samande, having relocated to Nigeria, is looking to cross over to a home based audience and emerge again on the international scene playing with the likes of Asa, Seal and Sade. His influences include Seal, Sting, Michael W Smith and Alanis Morissette. He currently manages a graphic design hot-shop based in Lagos, Nigeria (Yerima Design Limited), having earned the highest degree in the field, a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.''

Afrikan Boy – Hit Em Up

''On his continual rise in the UK music scene, afrobeat and grime fusion rap artist Afrikan Boy, strikes again with his Fela Kuti sampled official debut single “Hit Em Up” set to drop 22nd September 2013”.
The track is sure to blaze up the UK scene and prep for the anticipated debut LP “AB CD” to be released early this winter. Produced by New York outfit ‘The Two Fifteens’, Afrikan Boy aka Captain Afrika showcases the naturally funny observational humour that has won him his diverse fan base.
“Hit Em Up” is an afrobeat grime infused uptempo floor filler. AB recounts his re- emergence covering university days and his musical journey. The video is a vibrant montage of the mighty Fela Kuti cut with images celebrating Mama Africa with shots of Afrikan Boy in London detailing what it means to live and work in the UK as an African. “ My father always played Fela in the house when I was young, his music is my cultural compass to where my family came from” says Afrikan Boy “Hit Em Up is a part of my story as an artist in the UK expressing my dual cultural upbringing.”
