TY Bello - Ekundayo ft. Olufunmi #ThrowBackThursdays

Today's throwback is focused on the multi talented Nigerian alto vocalist TY Bello former member of the quartet KUSH, she burst into the music scene with her solo debut album 'Green Land'' released in 2007. 'Green Land' had hits such as 'Green Land' 'Ekundayo' and regarded as one of Nigeria's masterpieces.
The UNILAG economics graduate is also an exceptional portrait photographer with a great portfolio to her credit, which has also influenced her in directing/ co-directing most of her music videos and 'Ekundayo' is no exception.
'Ekundayo' was inspired by her encounter with Mrs. Ekundayo who runs Ekundayo Children’s Home, an orphanage in Isanlu, Kogi State. TY says; “The song is about a conversation between Toyin Subair myself and Mrs. Ekundayo. That conversation made me realize how empty my life was. I saw someone who was doing a lot more than I was and had much less than I did.”
BE inspired today and make a difference by changing a life. Cheers!
